We have recently been seeing lots of folks falling victim to “hacking” of devices whether it’s a desktop, laptop or phone. If you do not surf the web with a privacy protection tool, you are vulnerable to attacks like information theft, financial theft and even someone controlling your devices. In the last 12 months we have heard stories of victims allowing remote access to their computer for “IT support” only to find out it was someone accessing the device to intentionally steal something of value. Unfortunately, at Integrity Device Repair, we have seen way too much of this happening to people of all ages. It’s happening on phones and desktops.
There is no way to safeguard yourself 100% of the time, but at IDR, we always recommend using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to protect all your devices…when you are at home, you can use the expressVPN aircove router to protect the whole family while connected to wi-fi in the house. When you are out and about, make sure you have expressVPN on your to-go devices and that it is on and connected. This will make sure that no one can access your sensitive information through your devices.
